Pictures!!!

Last weekend, well you already know about last weekend because of my Mini-Update post. So here are the pictures from that. I like to have pictures when I open my blog! And I even have videos! WOOHOO We were all busy so we bought a cake for Tina! It was very good and very nicely decorated!

We went to eat at Panera cause we were in a hurry so we brought the cake in and decided to whisper sing Happy Birthday to not make a scene! Not that the talking and laughing were already doing so! :)
Tina was surprised. We only told her to meet us at 5 at Susan's. So we were pretty proud of ourselves. Two of her favorites...country music and sports! WOOHOO All thanks to Emily D. getting us cheap tickets!

She is quite the pole vaulter! It was fun watching her! :)

The picture of Emily pole vaulting is where she made it over! Isn't it a great picture?!?!

Last night Kyle and I went to the Clinton High School Girls basketball game. Four of the girls in my class were performing at halftime as Junior Poms. They were super good...I was actually impressed. Kyle was too. After the show I ran back to say Hi and get this picture. One of the girls could not be found so this is what happened... the girl on the left was searching for her. I am cracking up because I keep saying, "Look at the camera!!" So, even though I look ridiculous in this picture, it kind of captures the chaos of my classroom this semester. :) Oh and my long coat does not help this picture even more because I look like a little person! Which one of the parents did ask me how old I was. HA! I am sure that is the first of many parents!
Have a great weekend!

Mini-Update

HI! I have some great pictures and videos from last weekend but now that student teaching has begun, my time is spent away from the computer. We had a good weekend. I was able to see some of the fam and my roommates at the Phil Vassar Concert/Admirals game. Then spent some quality time with Nikki! We went to Emily's track meet (I will post a really sweet picture of her pole vaulting and a video this weekend). Get this, Kyle and I were ready for bed at 7:30 on Saturday night. HAHA We were pooped and realized what losers we are!
ANYWAYS, student teaching has started. I am starting by teaching Spelling and Reading. It is a very interesting classroom! I will be stretched beyond measure. I pray over the class every morning as I drive to school. It is really great having my own teacher desk and doing all the "teacher" things. It feels real!
Kyle is doing what he does best at this time of the year...TAXES! He has quite the list of taxes that he will be doing this year. Good experience! He also has a few classes on Tuesday and Thursday. He is looking for a job and had a few interviews but they didn't work out because of scheduling.
Oh, Carol, I made a meal plan for the month like your mom does. So far it is working well for us. :)
Well, the mini-update was a bit longer but typing is way faster then adding pictures so those will come later.
Have a great week! Love to you!

New Do...

Taking inspiration from brother Nathan, Kyle decided to buzz his head! Some of you know that I was not sure about this but it doesn't look bad! Kyle has wanted to do it for a loooong time so he wouldn't have to pay for haircuts (surprise, surprise!).It was hilarious when I was buzzing it cause Kyle was so paranoid that I would do it wrong! I enjoyed every minute of it. HAHA
This is the big news of our life today! I am glad to have shared it with my fellow bloggers!

Prayer Request

Hi All!
I have been observing in my 3rd grade classroom and begin for real on Friday. Every time I go I learn a little bit more about why this semester is going to be a challenge. If I explained it all, it would take tons of pages! I ask that you all pray for me that I will be confident in my abilities as a teacher and that I will do what is best for these students. God has me at this school for a reason and I am just waiting to see why!
Thanks!
Love you all!

4 Months...

It is amazing to me how much can change in 4 months. Here is a perfect example, me in the same outfit babysitting Baby David for the first time when he was about 7 weeks old. Four months later he is many more pounds heavier, has tons of facial expressions, and he does not like to be swaddled, he is a mover and almost able to roll over. This was my revelation for the day! :) A lesson in cherishing every moment.

Life Resolution...

I pretty much have given up on New Year Resolutions but I totally support people who do them because it is the perfect time to say " I am going to make a change starting NOW." My resolution is a life resolution. I have been reading some fun books and have noticed a common theme in the books. That theme is woman who are opening up both spiritually and emotionally and becoming vulnerable. As I continue to read these books I have been able to reflect on my own life and see that God has been asking me to do this for awhile. So, please pray for me, it is a scary thing becoming vulnerable both spiritually and emotionally and I think it will really benefit my relationships that I have, primarily with my husband. I want my relationships to be impacted by my faith and I want people to see Jesus in me. So, this is what I am working on and I am excited to see what God has for me. As, I said in a below post...2009 is going to be an exciting life-changing year.

"Let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth."
1 John 3:18
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power..."
Ephesians 6:10

New Years Eve Celebration

We had a great time celebrating the New Year with Scott and Beth. We ate, played fun games, and then crashed on the couch. Here is the play-by-play through pictures! We had appetizers for the meal. I tries some new recipes and it was quite yummy!
Scott made us Milwaukee Bulldogs to drink. I actually liked them! Again, yummy!

Cute! We match in blue!

Cute! They match in Wisconsin gear!

Fondue for dessert!

At about 11pm we were done playing games and all piled onto the couch to wait for the big hour! When midnight came, we went immediately to bed! HA We are party animals!

Happy New Year!

WOW, as I have been reflecting on this year I cannot believe how quickly it went. I made a list the other day of everything that happened in each month and we had big events happening in all but 3 of the 12 months. Pretty eventful year!
HIGHLIGHTS OF 2008...
  • Kyle started his internship at Kolb & Co. This internship turned into a full-time job starting in September 2009! WooHoo
  • Kyle started Graduate school at UWW, the internship was part of this!
  • We went to a number of weddings for some really great friends. Congrats to Susan & Tom, Carrie & Stuart, Scott & Beth, Tami & Jason, Valerie & Alton, Adam & Gina, Joel & Trena, and Ali & Joel. WOW!
  • My sister moved back to WI and then moved to CO!
  • I began my student teaching in 7th grade! I feel very blessed to have found a profession that I love.
  • We were very lucky to get to go on two honeymoons, the first to Lake Tahoe, Ca. The second to Kissimmee, FL with Scott and Beth. Great Times!
  • BIGGEST EVENT OF THE YEAR: We got MARRIED! We have been adjusting to married life and are seeing the blessings of it everyday!

It has been an exciting year. I was talking to my mom on New Years Day and she informed me that not only was 2008 exciting but 2009 is going to be just as exciting with more life changes. So, we will continue to pray that God's will will be done in our lives.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL! MAY GOD BLESS YOU!
