HAPPY LOVE WEEK!

Yes, I like to celebrate up until the big day, which, in turn, causes me to end up completely disappointed when the day actually comes but I still love the build up. (by the way, we have no plans but that doesn't change the fact that there is a holiday just around the corner for me to get excited about) Kyle and I are now on our 5th or 6th Valentine's Day together.......WOW! Where has the time went?

Valentine's Day while living in the dorms 3-4 years ago...we look young!

One of the great things about holidays now are the 3rd grade students that I have enjoyed celebrating with the past two years. Kids have such an excitement about EVERYTHING and it is contagious...this is why I LOVE my job!

Have a great week...You are loved by Kyle and I...Nala, too! :)
What did the stamp say to the envelope?
Stick with me and we'll go places

Go God!

The goal this week is to notice God in the small things of everyday life...I am often so busy with "life" that I forget to notice God working and I know he is working all the time. I am excited to see how different my outlook is this week. I am also thankful that God allowed this to be the message at church today...isn't it amazing how he plans it all for a purpose?

Life Update

It has been awhile! I was doing well with my blogging until now. I have been meaning to blog because you all know that I check the blogs every.day. but I haven't had the inspiration or experiences to write about. Here is a list, much easier to organize, of life lately...

1. Tax season is underway. Every week Kyle gets home an hour later. This week 7:00. Boo but it is only for 3 months.

2. We started doing The Love Dare devotional! It is a good read and I can't make excuses because they short devos and I can force myself to stay awake for them. I love the challenges. K-Love is doing it too so I enjoy listening to their challenges on the radio.

3. It is report card time at school and I am sitting here blogging. This is going to be my big job on Saturday...if Kyle works...I work.

4. I love that the days are getting longer. I have taken Nala to the dog park a few times and it is so refreshing to get outside and exercise.

5. Speaking of exercise, I have a 1/2 marathon partner that I am ridiculously excited about. She is going to push me because she is way more determined then I am. I am anxiously awaiting April to start our training. Until then I am going to get going on 1-3 miles regularly.

6. Does anyone have good recipes for dinner? I am sick of the usual and would rather someone just tell me then search through my cookbooks.

7. I am teaching a cooking class at summer school again. YES! The Mrs. D. apron will come in handy!

8. Still working on planning a summer vacation for Kyle and I. I am thinking a cruise, what do you think?

That is about it. Thanks for reading.

Happy New Year

2009 was filled with many wonderful memories. As I look back 12 months seems fast. Last year at this time we were living in our tiny apartment going to school. This year we are living in a bit larger apartment and living in the "real" world. We have been so blessed this year and I am overwhelmed by God's provision.

I am not big into making New Years Resolution because too many people, me included, don't follow through. Ambition is a different story...so this year my plan is to begin "training" for a 1/2 marathon. I have learned that running is mental thing and I obviously need to work on that side of my mind! :) It has been a desire of mine for a long time and now is the best time to start. Not only will it be good for me but it will also be good for Nala because she won't go stir crazy in the winter months. Now that I have declared it on the blog...I will HAVE to do some follow through because I have many family members that will ask me about this ambitious goal.

Looking ahead into 2010 we have plans already... grad school, school debt removal, vacation planning, church finding, tax season, and learning to stay put in Hartland on the weekends!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
WE HOPE YOU AND YOURS ARE BLESSED THIS YEAR!

Roommate Christmas 2009

We had another wonderful Christmas celebration with the roommates this weekend! The big difference this year was that the boys were invited! WHOA! It was really fun to have them with us. The events of the evening include watching the Whitewater (7 of the 8 are Whitewater alum), us girls exchanging gifts, eating dinner at P.F. Changs, spontaneous comfy pants purchase, and games! It was a great way to start off Christmas week! Merry Christmas to all! Our task this year was to make a recipe box for the person we picked. I picked Tina and I made her a mosaic box. It was fun and I think I did a nice job for my first piece. Here are the finished products and a close-up of mine.
We had a roommate photo shoot...of course! I will spare you the many pics by posting this "classic" Christmas picture pose picture!

THE PANTS! I love them! We had lots of laughs which is one of the best parts of getting together with these girls.
Games with the boys! We played Partini and Catch Phrase. Good times.
Our favorite picture of the evening. These girls are so wonderful and I am glad to have such great friends. We get together and its like we are living together again. Thanks for a great time girls! (boys too)
