Kyle Made Dinner

Kyle made his first full dinner tonight and was very proud of himself. He wanted a picture on the blog. It is always a great treat when Kyle starts dinner before I leave school. God must have told him that he should do it tonight cause I was just exhausted and planning on picking up Subway. :) He did a very good job. It was a Meatball Sub Casserole, Kyle chose the meals for this week and this was one of the new recipes. It was good but I have already chose some new things to make it my own in the future.

We have been busy this week. Kyle has the MPA exam on Saturday. He needs to complete this to graduate. You can pray for him to do well. I have been teaching a lot more and the days go so fast at school. Only 42 days until graduation, thanks to Naomi I know that. :) It is very exciting, but it has not sunk in yet because we have been so overwhelmed with other things. And I have a month of school after I graduate! But that last month will FLY! I really cannot imagine having to move out of this place in May. We are going to be busy.

GOOD LUCK TO BETH AT HER INTERVIEW TOMORROW! :)

Have a great, relaxing weekend, my loves!

Abbie's Baby Shower

My mom and I threw a Baby Shower for Abbie Meinen last Saturday. It was really fun and I needed to add some pictures to the blog so that Abbie's sister, Meghan, could see the shower from Italy. Lucky girl! So, here you go Meghan...we missed you!

Here is the cute punch with the duckies floating! HAHA I made duck and bottle sugar cookies for party favors! They were pretty cute...if I do say so myself! :)

One of the games was Name the Baby, you had to use the letters in Abbie & Jamie Meinen to name the baby. Some of the names were Bam Jam, Ben, and my mom's, Jemima! She thought she was hysterical! HAHA

The "cheesy" cake! :) Mary Beth was not thrilled with the look of the cake, but Jenna loved the baby on it! :) It was yummy!

Meghan wrote a nice letter to Abbie and gave her a lamp from her room for the baby. It was very nice...here is Abbie reading the letter and gazing up at the lamp!

Jenna was a guest at the shower and she was lots of fun! We are friends!

The dynamic duo! HAHA Life just wouldn't be the same without these two making us all laugh! We love you!
We are super excited for Abbie, Jamie, and Baby Meinen. We know they are going to be great parents. Thanks for letting us honor you with a shower, Abbie! :)

Enjoying Saturday!

I do not know how to move pictures around my post's. So here they are...read below for more info. Us on this beautiful Saturday morning. I am ready for the game in my orange.
A cool bulletin board that I made! It is so bright and cheery!
Dr. Seuss Cafe! I made the door signs.

Reading to a classmate!

We were a little nervous about my summer school job because after sending in my summer school plans I never heard back from the Principal. Well, today I got my official letter from the School Board. So, first of all, I feel good that the school board had to approve me. Second of all, I sent three options of classes that I would teach; Sports, Games and Fun, Cultural Arts and Crafts, and What's Cooking? AND that classes I am teaching are................Cultural Arts and Crafts and What's Cooking? CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?! One of my dreams has always been to have a kids camp for cooking. It is coming true and I am walking on clouds right now. WOOHOO
Now, we need to find Kyle a job for the summer and we will be set, well not really since I will still be looking for a full time job but for summer...set.

Today we are going to watch my brother Josh in the sectional final boy's basketball game. Cedar Grove is making history again with their sports. It is really fun...I love high school sports! GO ROCKETS!

I wanted to post some pictures but the only pictures that I currently have are from my classroom. So I will post some pictures of Dr. Seuss Cafe. I was really a great time and the students practiced writing short, descriptive summaries and reading aloud to their classmates. They also practiced being polite....they need help in this area. :)

It's Been Awhile...

I will never ask for a post from Sara or Carol ever again. I usually am able to post once a week but now being on a "real-world" schedule I have been unable to even think about what to write. Then if you throw in a baby...WHOA! Things have been good. I don't have new pictures to share, the only ones that I have been taking are of my class and events that have happened in school. So here is a little update...
KYLE: He has been feeling a little overwhelmed lately. School has finally caught up with him and he has made a lot of commitments to do taxes for people. Funny story: We didn't have school for a full day yesterday and I was pretty giddy and running all over the place. So, Kyle catching onto my mood wanted to wrestle he tried to pick me up and pulled a muscle in his back! From this we learned two lessons. First, he needs to start moving again. Second, he is not a young duck anymore. :) So we iced it and gave him some Tylenol and it is feeling somewhat better. He is not out of bed yet, so we will see how it is this morning.
KRYSTIN: I love going to school every morning but the experience is much different then I thought it would be. I thought I would have taken over the entire classroom by now but I have not. I thought I would be teaching more but I feel like the classroom aid at times. The kids do not listen or care about anyone but themselves until Sue raises her voice at them and they are silent. I really care about teaching because I think it is so much more then just the knowledge you acquire. The character skills that are built by working with others and being with people you don't always like are so important. These kids have a difficult time with that. But even though it is a hard road I am learning a lot about teaching and how to deal with certain students with problems. Monday is Dr. Seuss's birthday and I am in charge so I AM EXCITED!! It is also Read Across America Day, so take some time to read to your child or to yourself!
KYLE & KRYSTIN: We have been looking to the future making 1, 5, & 10 year goals. This has been fun. We have also been constantly revising the way we do the budget and planning for the summer because I will be teaching for half days but we don't know what Kyle will be doing yet. It will be good to be home for one more summer to be able to spend time with both families a lot. We are also trying to plan a little shindig for Spring Break. I hope I can find a deal so Kyle will go for it!!! :)
That's the update! I hope everyone is well, I feel like it has been forever since we have seen everyone. We love you and think of you often! Have a fabulous weekend!

Summer School Here I Come...

I got a summer school teaching job! WOOHOO I will be working at Cedar-Grove Belgium Elementary School. A lot is up in the air as they are redoing the program but I have a real teaching job! Well, it is a "fun" teaching job cause the school only offers one remedial course but I am teaching Sports and Games and then another topic that I am researching. I am excited. Hope you all are doing well.
